Hi, I hope someone can help me with this...
I purchased a home theater system for my family for Christmas and on the box it said that it was also a Karaoke player and it has plugs for 2 microphones, etc.
What I failed to realize, is that it did not say that it would play CD-G's.
It doesn't.
My big problem, I bought 4 Karaoke CD-Gs, at $20 each and it won't play the graphics part, music only. I know i paid more for the (G) which this player won't play.
Of course my kids opened and tried all the cds, so I can't return them.
I can still use them this way of course, but they didn't even come with lyrics and we don't know most of the songs (well, i don't)
My question, is there anyway i can copy these to another format that this system will play? VCD? or DVD? or ??
Thanks.

yes, you can convert them to DVD... you will need a CDG player and a DVD recorder, just do it like copying a tape.....

or just go to wal-mart and buy a $30 memorex CDG player, it has line outs for audio and video and 2 mic inputs

another option is to buy a leader or vocopro decoder and hook it to the optical output on the DVD player

lamame,
if you got the apex.. or the like that says you can do "karaoke".. it does karaoke alright.. just DVD karaoke.. we learned that real hard lesson here with my company.. when we got 8 players... in a scramble. and had to install them in a hurry in 4 shows to do maintence.. the good thing was the "Right 4" machines went in to be maintained... so luck was with us..

still you can do karaoke.. but only DVD karaoke.. just look REAL closely at your owners manual. E-mail me and I bet I can either walk or talk you through it on the phone. they didn't take me long to set up the first one once I figured out where I went wrong. but I was kinda miffed too..

Good luck..
