I have just made the jump to having karaoke files on a laptop computer and plan to bring the laptop to the bars I do shows at. But I'm still not sure what outputs on the computer and what adapters/cords I need to use to make the karaoke audio go from my laptop to my usual audio mixing amp that I used to connect to my CDG player , when I was using CDG discs. I also don't know how to make the video/graphics go from my laptop over to the RF modulator and then on to the TV monitors in the bar.

Can anyone instruct me?
Thanks,
Fuzzy

s-video out from the computer to the tv demodulator, and sound from the sound out jack to the same place you hooked in the cdg player.

Fuzzy I will tell you a BETTER WAY but it will cost ya..

that picture will be pretty grainy on S-video, we have seen alot of RF modulators that have had probs converting them.

I'll bet ya the flight a hotel room and expenses on it to troubleshoot it..

I just found a new video card for XP and laptops that uses analog A RCA video connector And set-up takes only 30 mins. and the bitrate and refresh rate is almost in real time.

I used it tonight in A corperate party.

No failures or freezes what so ever!

Brian,
How do you put the video card you are describing in a laptop. I have a desktop that outputs to composite, and s video. and have tried both through my rca demod /4way switch they bothe have the same quality. after all the karaoke screen is only 640x480. and the refresh rate on the rca is as fast as the tv can take at 60hz refresh rate.

I was wondering on a comparison of pckj and hoster from someone that has used both. I am using hoster. and love it.

Dr. D,
it doesn't require as much RAM to run it, plus I have crashed Hoster many times in the newer versions, and I don't beta! PCKJ has worked exceptionally well for what we do and the audio and video quality is what counts for us.. although we only use a select minimum amount of tracks in the software. 85% of the time device conflicts and Software problems not the OS are or hardware are what cause PC or laptop failures in a karaoke ot DJ show.
