Outside of laser discs & cassette tapes, DK was the first CDG library I encountered. The "Edit-A-Vision" 99 disc set was considered the core collection for KJ's.
My question: What were the production dates for this library?

Don't know exact dates, however do know that line ended sometime around 1999. They were producing discs at least since 91 where I first encountered them in this area. Pioneer laser was pretty much the standard around here.

After 99, they discontinued the original series and came out with the Applause, Encore & Premier sets which basically took the hodgepodge tracks of the original line & broke them up into more 'like' discs - either same genre type or artists, etc. They also lost licensing on quite a few tracks so those were removed from any future releases. The DK Millenium set came out in 2000 which pretty much included almost everything the original 99 discs had to offer minus the tracks not licensable anymore.

I was a partner in Damfino, the production company that produced most of the Daiichi Kosho tracks. We were contracted to do this from the late eighties to 1999. All recordings done in NYC with the best of the best studio musicians, arrangers and recording engineers. The best time of my life.

Damfino,

Somebody's gotta interview you. Granted most of the 90's-2000 karaoke producers have to be interviewed, but especially you. At least for historical purposes.
