1930
The story of “Mood Indigo” (1930) by Barney Bigard, Duke Ellington and Irving Mills started with Lorenzo Tio, Jr, who was a member of Piron's New Orleans Orchestra, where the theme song was “Dreamy Blues”.
This rendition is primarily acapella, with some backing vocals by the eclectic composer, Dirigent in Germany. It's a little experimental...hope you enjoy |

Really terrific performance Mary, and love the way you took this song and customized it to your voice and style! Loved listening to you this afternoon..RICH |
Reply: Oh thanks but the glory goes to Dirigent who creates such interesting interpretations. It's a thrill to work with him. |

New song for me. You have done a wonderful job introducing this to me. Loved my listen this morning. :) |
Reply: It's a little out there. The Duke Ellington versions are a bit more mainstream. |

Tech happened again.. This was a song I only knew of by title until hearing you. Nice semi acappela arrangement here. Was Dirigent playing bass on this? He had some Ink Spot inspired backups. You both matched up quite well.. Enjoyed |
Reply: I think he did the entire backing track. He sings, etc. Very gifted composer, conductor, etc. |
